Working in Partnership

Working in Partnership

The IMRF and APRC work closely with charitable trusts and foundations. Working in partnership, we have developed projects that make a lasting impact in preventing loss of life in the world’s waters.

250 Life Jackets

250 Life Jackets

One example is through the support of the Airbus Helicopters Corporate Foundation (new window), a total of 250 life jackets donated by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue were sent worldwide in late 2014 (new window), in an initiative coordinated by the IMRF.

The lifejackets were dispatched to Search and Rescue Services (SARs) who desperately needed them to save lives and were sent to Chile, Uruguay, Venezuela, Russia, Estonia and North West Africa.

The IMRF has already heard from Captain Gabriel Ndow, Senior Marine Surveyor from the Gambia Maritime Administration (GMA) who said:

"GMA is deeply appreciative of this gesture from IMRF and wishes to convey it's sincere gratitude to the Federation. Rest assured that some of the stakeholders in the maritime community of The Gambia, particularly fisher folk and SAR personnel will stand to benefit from these donated lifejackets."

We would like to thank all the trusts and foundations, who already have given so much valuable support to the IMRF and the APRC, so we can carry out our work!
